Leaves largely unopened. Very good condition. German text. "At the beginning of 1856 Hahn was back in South Africa; he settled at Otjimbingwe, where some of the Herero people had sought refuge. Hoping to expand his mission Hahn undertook two journeys to the north. With the Rev. Johannes Rath he set out for Ovamboland on 20.5.1857 on an exploratory expedition of four months. He reached Ondonga but, fearing for their lives, the party fled because of the hostility of the natives." - DSAB I, p. 342
